The Fast and the Furious
A selection of Year 10 Business Studies students competed in the 2009 borough wide Enterprise competition, ‘the Fast and the Furious’.
The competition required teams of students to come up with an innovative business idea. The competition was held within school and two winning teams were chosen.

The members of team one were Carmen Cheung, Palvisha Khan and Jessica Minihan.Their product idea was an A-Z cook book including recipes from around the world.
The members of team two were Scott McDowell, Sophie Kenny and Ellen Golding. Their business idea was to provide the concept of complete meal solutions- 3 course meals delivered to you at work, school or home.
The two teams then prepared themselves for the borough finals, held in July 2009, where they competed against teams from other schools in Oldham. The teams had to present their business idea to a panel of ‘Dragons’ at a prestigious event supported by key partners and businesses in Oldham.
An awards ceremony was held at Oldham Sixth Form where the winners were announced and local business men and women shared their experiences and offered advice. Both teams did exceptionally well, with team two finishing in 6th place and team one finishing in 2nd place.
