Thorp Primary School Business Project
The project was to design and make Christmas mugs to sell at their Christmas fair to raise money for their school funds.
Pupils had to think about the marketing mix – what their PRODUCT design would be, what PRICE they were going to charge for their product, the PLACE they were going to sell their product and how they were going to PROMOTE their product.
Once this had been decided, pupils then made their mugs ready to sell at their Christmas fair.

Chadderton Hall Primary School ‘Soapbox’ Challenge
In June 2009 a ‘soapbox’ challenge was held for Year 5 & 6 pupils at Chadderton Hall Primary School.
The project involved pupils creating a marketing campaign in small groups – deciding on a product and package design, deciding on a price to charge, deciding how to promote their products and deciding on a place to sell the products.
Once market planning was complete, pupils made their own soap and created the packaging and designed posters to be displayed around the school to promote the sale of the soap.
